Adding Doosan dual-pressure/dual-flow air compressors to your equipment inventory can help you expand rental capabilities while controlling cost. The two-in-one design offers many advantages, including a lower price point compared to buying two separate units, lower fuel cost compared to two separate units and less maintenance than two machines.
The added versatility of dual pressure/dual flow also opens up more rental opportunities than a single setting air compressor. Jobsites that need flexibility can also benefit from a dual-pressure air compressor. For example, the Doosan P250/HP210 can switch between the low pressure P250 setting to operate multiple air drills and breakers one day, and the high pressure HP210 setting is used for abrasive blasting the next day. The P250/HP210 changes from a low-pressure to a high-pressure setting with a simple flip of a switch. The same machine is used for dual purposes. Separate air compressors in this scenario would leave one machine sitting idle. In addition to the obvious cost savings of one machine versus two, the ability to switch modes instead of switching out machines also saves time and transport costs for the customer and the rental provider.
The variable pressure and flow settings are ideal for a wide range of applications that require day-to-day versatility, including general construction, road and bridge work, and pipeline testing. Dual-pressure/dual-flow models in the Doosan Portable Power product line include:
The following 3 questions are are what you need to know before buying a compressor for your job.

Diesel generators equipped with Tier 4-Final engines require elevated internal heat to effectively complete diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration — an aftertreatment process that consumes particles and impurities in the exhaust stream in order to meet emission standards. Similarly, Tier 4-Final engine systems equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) aftertreatment technology require higher exhaust temperatures for periodic conditioning of the SCR system to maintain efficiency and performance. Generators operating below rated capacity or in extremely cold environments often cannot produce the required internal heat. As a result, the process is often aided by adding supplemental load or employing a conventional load bank which requires downtime.
The Doosan Portable Power-patented ILMS creates supplemental heat within the exhaust system, which aids the regeneration process without limiting the generator capacity or causing downtime. The internally packaged ILMS adds a relatively small amount of load and applies the heat generated by the ILMS directly to the aftertreatment system. As a result, the ILMS is able to achieve the temperature threshold needed to ensure proper aftertreatment performance more efficiently than load bank systems. The ILMS is also more fuel efficient compared with other methods of adding supplemental load.
The ILMS option is currently available on the G190, G240 and G325 mobile generators.

Follow these five fuel management tips to help reduce machine downtime and costly damage caused by water, debris and other contaminants found in diesel fuel.
Tip No. 1: Fill machine tanks at the end of each workday
Diesel fuel can reach high temperatures during the workday. As the machine cools, condensation can form in air gaps. Make sure every machine is topped off with diesel fuel at the end of the day to prevent condensation buildup that can lead to water droplets forming in the fuel line. In addition to refilling the fuel tank, operators should empty the water trap daily.
Tip No. 2: Test bulk fuel tanks every six months
Fuel is one of the largest operational expenses for construction business owners. So when storing diesel fuel, the last thing you want is water or other contaminants in your storage tank. Water can degrade the fuel chemical structure and eventually lead to pump, filter and injector problems.
Every six months, you or a professional diesel fuel-cleaning and inspection service should test your supply tanks for contaminants. A small amount of water can be removed, but significant amounts of water or sludge in the tank should be drained and cleaned. To help monitor your supply tank, maintain a preventive maintenance log for the tank that includes a maintenance history, filter changes and particle counts.
Tip No. 3: Keep supply tank fuel filters clean
Often machines are filled with a five or 10-gallon plastic container. How do you know that the container is completely clean or how the fuel was stored before adding it to the container? To bypass these issues, make sure any fuel entering a storage tank passes through a dispensing filter as another layer of protection to prevent contaminants from entering the supply. Additionally, fuel tank filters should be capped and the tank vent must be filtered. Tank filters typically have a 10-micron-or-fewer fuel filter to help remove moisture as fuel is dispensed through the vent.
Tip No. 4: Use only genuine Doosan fuel filters
Today’s fuel systems require cleaner fuel for peak performance. Even trace amounts of contaminants in a fuel supply can cause engine power loss and even failure. Genuine Doosan fuel filters are designed, tested and proven to trap particulates down to 2-micron, protecting sensitive system components against contaminants, moisture, fungus and bacteria.
Tip No. 5: Ask a supplier to confirm the fuel’s cloud point
The term cloud point refers to the temperature where wax begins to drop out of fuel, forming crystals that can quickly plug the fuel filter. Since the cloud point from the refinery is based on the geographic location and the time of year that fuel is intended to be used, ask your fuel supplier whether the cloud point is appropriate for your region and season.
