The Leroy-Somer alternator uses Class-H insulation to protect it from moisture and dust. Additionally, Leroy-Somer alternators feature AREP - an extra set of windings that provide greater motor starting capability. This means that a smaller generator can start with a larger motor and operate more efficiently than a traditional shunt generator.
